Professional Experience

Jonathan Hood practises in the firm’s Litigation Department with a focus on Arbitration, Competition/Antitrust Disputes, Trade Remedy Proceedings, Advertising and Marketing Law Disputes and Financial Services Litigation.

Jonathan has been involved in a complex domestic commercial arbitration. He has experience working on an anti-dumping and countervailing duty case on behalf of the Canadian Corn Producers. Jonathan has also worked on a broad range of corporate commercial litigation including a large auditor negligence case.

As an articling and summer student Jonathan gained experience working on mergers such as the Alcan/Pechiney transaction and assisting clients in dealing with the Foreign Extraterritorial Measures Act. Jonathan also helped write the Canadian Chapter in International Protection of Foreign Investment (Yorkhill Publishing, 2003).

In law school he was a part of the Osgoode team that won the William C. After articling he and his wife bicycled over 3000 km from Toronto to Calgary.
