Professional Experience
Andrea is a partner in the firm's Commercial Real Estate Group. Andrea's practice covers all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, from financing and re-financing to acquisitions and dispositions involving all classes of properties. She acts for real estate developers, national and international financial institutions, commercial real estate companies, asset managers and pension funds. Before joining the firm in 2000, Andrea practiced real estate and corporate law with a firm in Kitchener, Ontario.
Andrea is a member-at-large of the Ontario Bar Association, Real Property Executive, and active member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) as well as other industry specific groups.
Representative Transactions
- Acted for Kilmer Van Nostrand on the sale of Warren Paving & Materials to Lafarge Inc. involving pits and quarries across 5 provinces.
- Acted for the Ontario Realty Corporation on the transfer of a large mental health hospital and related out patient services to a government funded not-for-profit organization.
- Acted for the Ontario Realty Corporation on a land swap transaction with a private citizen including negotiations for an access right-of-way with abutting landowners.
- Acted for the Ontario Realty Corporation on multiple leasing transactions with the government as either landlord or tenant.
- Acted for an aggregate extraction company on the sale of a pit with a pre-existing environmental condition where environmental insurance was used in place of indemnities, which carry unknown potential exposure.
