Members of the Oil and Gas Group represent a range of major, intermediate, and junior companies buying and selling assets throughout Canada and internationally. They advise on a wide variety of daily operating issues facing energy companies as well as project financing, problem solving, negotiation and documentation related to conventional and unconventional oil and gas and crude bitumen exploration and production.
Our lawyers have worked on numerous infrastructure projects gas storage and pipeline projects and expansions and have assisted gas utilities and end-users with respect to permitting, contracting and compliance issues.
We have experience on both the regulated and unregulated sides of the energy business. We structure and negotiate various buy/sell arrangements for wide range of crude products, long-term and short-term physical sales of natural gas and natural gas liquids including Direct Sales, Netting, Guarantees, Bonds, Collateral/Securitization Agreements as well as physical and derivative financial instruments for energy marketing and trading.
We have helped design electricity markets, and have acted for a variety of generation and cogeneration clients across Canada and throughout North America. The strength of our knowledge and experience is gained from representing clients who develop and finance renewable and fossil-fuelled energy projects; pursue demand-side management initiatives; and construct, maintain and manage their wires businesses.
