Max is an Associate in McMillan's Financial Services group focusing on domestic and cross-border financing and secured lending transactions, and is developing a practice in the Privacy and Data Protection group at the intersection of privacy and technology law.

Max joined McMillan in 2014 as a summer student and articled with the firm prior to being called to the Quebec Bar in 2015. He earned his BCL and LLB degrees from McGill University's Faculty of Law. During his studies, Max worked as an editor for both the McGill Law Journal and the McGill Journal of Law and Health, edited and published the 8th edition of the Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation and served as a student law clerk at the Court of Appeal for Quebec for the Honourable Nicholas Kasirer.

Prior to joining McMillan, Max worked in information technology as a project manager and departmental director at a number of private companies and public institutions. Before his legal studies, Max received a BA from the University of Toronto, an MPhil from the London School of Economics, and a PhD in Philosophy from McGill University.

Max is the author of several publications, the most recent of which are a scholarly article examining the effects of intellectual property law on food security and a book chapter contributed to Eloïse Gratton's and Elisa Henry's Practical Guide to E-Commerce and Internet Law, discussing the legal regimes that govern internet domain names.
