Professional Activities

Sarah Kilpatrick is an associate in the firm's Intellectual Property and Technology Group. Her practice focuses primarily on new media / copyright, trade-marks, domain names and corporate transactions involving IP.

She regularly advises multinational social media companies and broadcasters on copyright issues, including issues arising from the use of music on the Internet. She also represents numerous parties before the Copyright Board of Canada in relation to the certification of copyright tariffs.

Sarah's trade-mark practice focuses on conducting searches, providing opinions and advice on registrability, filing and prosecuting applications, representing clients in opposition and expungement proceedings, and trademark infringement matters, as well as domestic and international trademark portfolio management.

She also regularly advises clients and corporate counsel on transactions involving the transfer or licensing of intellectual property.

Sarah is a Registered Trade-mark Agent in Canada.
