Professional Experience
Ted is the National Director of Knowledge Management services at the firm where he combines his experience as a practicing lawyer and law librarian to provide cost effective research and information services to the firm's lawyers and clients. He manages both the firm’s knowledge management initiatives and the firm’s print and online library. Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Ted was a law librarian and adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto.
Ted recently completed his Master of Law at the University of Toronto while on sabbatical there on the topic of access to law-related information. In addition to teaching at the law school, he also taught at the Faculty of Information Studies at the University where he earned his Master of Information Studies.
In addition to his work in the information field, Ted also practiced law in a variety of settings, including as a research lawyer, a litigator, and as in-house counsel in Japan to a large Japanese computer manufacturer. Ted is a regular speaker at many seminars on technology and legal research and regularly contributes articles to a variety of law-related publications in addition to being the author of two important legal textbooks. He has also served as a member of the International Development Committee of the Canadian Bar Association.
