Canadian Anti-Spam Law: What you still need to know about CASL

Events < 1 read

November 30, 2017

3:30 pm – 5:00 pm
McMillan Toronto office

Please join us at the upcoming Toronto KnowledgeNet Chapter meeting. In June 2017, the Government of Canada suspended the coming into force of CASL’s private right of action. Despite the absence of the private right of action, CASL remains one of the toughest anti-spam laws in the world, with penalties of up to $10 million for the most serious violations of the legislation. Join the discussion where legal and industry leaders will provide the latest updates on CASL and how organizations are rising to the compliance challenge.

Speakers:

Sharon Groom, Partner, McMillan LLP
Wally Hill, VP Government and Consumer Affairs, Canadian Marketing Association
Derek Lackey, President, Direct Marketing Association of Canada Moderator:

Janine MacNeil, CIPP/C, Partner, McMillan LLP

Registration and networking will begin at 3:30 p.m. with the presentation to start at 4 p.m.
