Thomas van den Hoogen is an associate with the Regulatory Group in Montréal. His practice focuses on international trade law, including import and export controls; economic sanctions and customs; and antidumping and countervailing trade remedies.

Prior to and throughout his law studies at McGill, Thomas worked as an analyst in the legal department of a multinational aerospace and defense company. In this role, he advised Canadian and foreign business units on international trade issues, performed compliance audits and developed procedures relating to controlled goods, economic sanctions and export controls. Thomas was also involved in the McGill community as an Associate Editor with the McGill Journal of Dispute Resolution and a volunteer at the Legal Information Clinic at McGill.

Before pursuing his studies in law, Thomas obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University where he was the Recipient of the Danny and Monica Gold Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership.
